The module uses tantalum capacitors to reduce ripple interference. The IIC has an external pull-up resistor. INA219 is a shunt and power monitor with an I2C or SMBUS compatible interface. The device monitors the shunt voltage drop and the bus supply voltage, and the number of conversions and filtering options are programmable. Programmable calibration values and internal multipliers allow direct reading of current values in amperes. The power in watts can be calculated via an additional multiplication register. The I2C or SMBUS compatible interface has 16 programmable addresses. INA219 is available in two grades: Grade A and Grade B. Class B models have higher accuracy and tighter precision specifications. The INA219 senses voltage dividers in the bus range from 0V to 26V. The device operates from a single 3V to 5.5V power supply with a maximum current consumption of 1mA. The INA219 operates over a temperature range of -40°C to 125°C.
