Overview

EEI TECHNOLOGY HNS-11MS46T VFD clock project

  • For accurate travel time, the annual error is as low as less than one minute using the DS3231's own RTC with temperature compensation.
  • It uses a charge pump + Cuk topology driver, which consumes less power than the Buck-boost negative voltage made with Buck chips (power consumption is as low as 2W or less).
  • Equipped with temperature and humidity sensor, you can check the room temperature and humidity.
  • Dynamic display effect, the icon will slowly fill up as time changes, and then flash twice to clear. At this time, the temperature/humidity display will switch in the lower right corner, and a random number will jump during the switching process.
  • Humidity and temperature scroll in turns
  • VFD 7 levels of brightness adjustable
  • Displayed from Monday to Sunday (the top row also has the first Chinese character showing the day of the week)
  • It doesn’t have many functions, but we use V!!!F!!!D!!!, it looks good and that’s it.

  • The source code will not be released (the writing is too bad) and only BIN files are burned.
  • How to adjust the time: Press "SET", then press "SEL", the corresponding numbers will flash. Press "UP" DOWN" to perform addition and subtraction operations, then press "SEL" until all numbers flash, then press " UP" to save
  • Brightness adjustment: Press "SEL" to switch between manual 0-3 gears and automatic mode. At this time, the screen will display the brightness level and mode (NORM 0-3) (AUTO).
  • Program burning method: Use STLINK UTILITY to download (click the connection and press the reset button, otherwise an error will be reported), or use Flash Loader Demo to download the serial port ISP (pull BOOT0 high, connect the serial port line and press the reset button to connect ).

Precautions

  • Do not get foreign objects into the sensor module, otherwise the temperature and humidity measurement will be inaccurate.
  • Do not solder DS18B20! Do not solder! Don't weld! That position is used to install the photoresistor.
  • Avoid head-on collisions, as the VFD is made of glass and is fragile.
  • Be sure to use a power supply above 5V1A.
  • Be sure to suspend the temperature and humidity sensor module in the air (the flying wire should not be too long), and do not solder it directly to the board, otherwise the temperature and humidity measurement will be affected due to the heat generated by the screen itself.
  • When powering on for the first time, if you find that the time does not run, press the SEL key to adjust the brightness, and then power on again.

Change log

  • 2020.10.26: Firmware update, adding Chinese characters to display Monday to Sunday, and a flashing effect when setting the page.
  • 2020.11.11: Changes in firmware and negative voltage DCDC have added a brightness adjustment function (three-level brightness is adjustable, or automatically adjusted, and a 104 capacitor and a photoresistor are connected in parallel to the original DS18B20 pins 2-3 to achieve the automatic adjustment function) In addition, the output capacitor of the negative voltage DCDC uses an electrolytic capacitor to replace the original MLCC (MLCC as an output capacitor will cause loop self-excitation, causing the inductor to produce a slight whistling sound).
  • 2020.11.11: Fixed the BUG that I2C may get stuck when powering on, and enhanced the compatibility with STM32 (HK32 APM32 CKS32) alternative models from other manufacturers.
