On July 21, at the full-scenario new product launch conference held by Honor, Honor 8, the first tablet computer for the global market, was launched. This complete product, which is exclusively supplied by BOE, has completely broken through the cooperation model of the two parties based on the supply of a single display screen in the past, and explored a new layout of ODM cooperation with integrated boards, systems, and software with display devices as the core, fully demonstrating BOE's innovative strength in the coordinated development of smart terminals with screens and complete machines. This is also a milestone for BOE to fully supply Honor's full range of mobile terminal products after the Magic 4 series, 70 series, Magic V folding, Magicbook series and other products. The two parties will continue to deepen their cooperation in the field of mobile smart terminals, and bring people a more convenient and beautiful new experience of smart display with world-leading technological innovation.
At present, multi-form, thin and light, highly integrated mobile terminals are gradually becoming the development trend of the industry. This time, BOE (BOE Technology Group Co., Ltd.) provided Honor 8 with an ODM full-process solution from screen to whole machine integrated design, R&D, and production. Not only did it set a new record in product development speed, the development schedule was shortened by 15% compared with the industry, and the highly integrated technical solution also achieved many industry "firsts". Under the industrial design of 6.9mm ultra-thin whole machine thickness, it highly integrates a number of technological innovations: through PA architecture optimization, it realizes the upgrade from 4 to 8 speaker configurations, creating the ultimate audio-visual experience for users; innovative design realizes power management IC circuit replacement optimization, and for the first time completes the universal flash storage and embedded multimedia storage card compatible integrated design based on the Snapdragon 680 processor platform, which enhances the differentiated competitiveness of products, continuously meets customer customization needs, and brings people a better audio-visual feast with more flexible, more integrated, and thinner mobile terminal solutions.
What's more worth mentioning is that the Honor 8 tablet also performs well in terms of healthy eye protection. This series of products is equipped with BOE's 12-inch low-blue light eye protection full screen, and has passed the authoritative certification of TUV Rheinland, a third-party testing, inspection and certification agency. In terms of eye protection, BOE combines its healthy display R&D experience with TUV Rheinland's rich visual ergonomics evaluation experience based on rich user experience and application scenarios to provide users with high-quality and healthy eye protection display solutions. In order to alleviate the harm of harmful blue light to eye health, the low-blue light eye protection full screen equipped with Honor 8 strictly controls the proportion of blue light in the harmful band in the display spectrum, which can reduce the screen's harmful blue light by nearly 40%, far below the industry reference level, effectively relieve visual fatigue, and provide users with more eye-protecting and safer display products to meet the general needs of consumers for eye protection.
As a global leader in semiconductor display, BOE continues to lead the world, ranking first in the world in display shipments in five major application areas, including smartphones, tablets, laptops, monitors, and TVs. In particular, the tablet market has ranked first in the world for ten consecutive years, and has launched a number of world-first products such as 10.3-inch to 12.7-inch. In addition to traditional consumer tablets, BOE is also accelerating the application of innovative display solutions such as anti-blue light eye protection screens, full reflection eye protection screens, and naked-eye 3D. Over the years, BOE has led the world with high-precision, high-quality, and highly automated intelligent manufacturing technology and digitalization, and continues to provide customers with integrated solutions from screens to complete machines, which are applied to various types of smart terminals and have been well received and highly recognized by global first-line customers.
Nowadays, displays are everywhere, and screens have become the first touchpoint and important port for information interaction in the era of the Internet of Things. In line with industry trends, BOE has determined the development strategy of "Screen-Internet of Things" , which is to integrate more functions, derive more forms, and place more scenes in displays, continuously strengthen its core technology advantages in the display field, optimize product design and improve process level, provide customers with integrated solutions for screens and whole machines, and bring more wonderful experiences from display technology to hundreds of millions of consumers around the world.
