Shanghai, China, March 18, 2022 - Today, Honor officially launched the all-round smart flagship mobile phone - Honor Magic4 series in China . The series aims to end the user's pain points and is equipped with many industry-first technologies and functions. Pixelworks, Inc., a leading provider of innovative video and display processing solutions, announced that both Honor Magic4 Pro and Honor Magic4 Ultimate Edition phones are equipped with the advanced Pixelworks X5 Plus visual processor, which uses first-class display technology with near-top hardware configuration to bring end users an excellent visual experience covering a variety of display scenarios.
According to the information from the Honor press conference, as the highest configuration model of the Honor Magic4 series, the Magic4 Ultimate Edition has a clear leading advantage in configuration. In terms of core configuration, this flagship phone uses the new generation Snapdragon™ 8 mobile platform, with the self-developed Turbo X technology engine and the fifth-generation Pixelworks visual processor, further releasing the hardware potential and effectively balancing power consumption; in terms of imaging, it uses AI imaging technology and multi-camera fusion computational photography algorithms to provide a new "recording and shooting" function, which can not only record high-definition videos, but also take high-definition photos at the same time, capturing the beauty of the moment; in terms of screen, the phone uses a 6.81-inch flexible AMOLED screen with a resolution of 2848x1312 pixels, supporting LTPO 120Hz adaptive dynamic refresh rate and 1920Hz high-frequency PWM dimming.

Dual MotionEngine™ Technology - MotionEngine™ (MEMC) imaging technology that supports dual-channel structure can support hierarchical optimization of specific content, thereby bringing excellent visual quality to a wide range of content, video formats, frame rates and multimedia applications. Through intelligent interpolation, it can provide flicker-free video up to 60Hz and ultra-low latency 120Hz gaming experience. While achieving ultra-smooth high frame rate images, the GPU load is reduced through a distributed motion processing architecture to reduce overall power consumption, avoid overheating of the phone, and extend battery life. Currently, this function can support mainstream video applications including iQiyi, Tencent, Youku, Bilibili, etc., and its frame rate enhancement mode has also been adapted to more than ten popular mobile games including "Honkai Impact 3", "Genshin Impact", "Honor of Kings", "Tian Ya Ming Yue Dao", "Peace Elite", etc.
Full-time HDR - can achieve real-time conversion from SDR to high-precision HDR effects, allowing videos and game screens to display more color levels and details, bringing a more immersive visual experience.
AI HDR enhancement technology - through Pixelworks' dynamic adaptive HDR technology processing, it can achieve dynamic effect improvement from HDR10 to HDR10+, dynamically adjust display properties such as screen brightness and tone mapping according to the display content and ambient light brightness, making the color of the picture more layered and the picture quality more delicate, effectively improving the user's viewing experience on video apps including iQiyi and Tencent.
Absolute Color Accuracy - Factory calibrated using Pixelworks display calibration technology, the average Delta E value (a measure of color accuracy, the lower the better) is < 0.5, while also featuring a 100% DCI-P3 wide color gamut and true 1.07 billion colors for perfectly reproducing the most authentic colors on the screen. What you see is what you get.
True Skin Tones – A calibrated skin tone solution ensures accuracy in all display modes, rendering realistic skin tones of real people in all content, whether they are in photos, videos shot on your phone, or characters from popular movies.
Color Cast Correction – As part of the display adjustment process, this feature ensures the accuracy of the entire screen color at low brightness by correcting the color cast that occurs on the screen panel at low brightness.
Smooth Brightness Control - With up to 16,384 levels of brightness control, when the ambient light changes, the brightness can be matched to the ambient light delicately and seamlessly, achieving ultra-smooth brightness control.
