On the morning of May 16, the "cloud signing" of foreign-funded projects in Jiangsu Province and the "cloud awarding" of foreign-funded headquarters enterprises were held. A total of 7 foreign-funded projects were signed on-site at the Nanjing branch venue, including the liquid crystal polymer project of Celanese (Nanjing) Chemical Co., Ltd., the global R&D center and production line expansion project of Shanjin Optoelectronics Polarizer, etc.
Celanese Nanjing Plant is one of the earliest enterprises to settle in Jiangbei New Materials Science and Technology Park. It is mainly engaged in the research and development and production of acetyl derivative products, and its products are used in the fields of chemical industry, automobile, electronic products, medical treatment, etc. Among them, liquid crystal polymer (LCP) and other products are included in the "Guide Catalogue of Key Products and Services of Strategic Emerging Industries" issued by the National Development and Reform Commission and the Ministry of Commerce. The Nanjing Plant has developed into Celanese's largest integrated comprehensive production base in China.
The project signed this time includes 3 liquid crystal polymer production lines and corresponding facilities. The project's energy-saving and consumption-reducing measures are advanced and reasonable, reaching the domestic advanced energy-saving level.
Hengan zinc-bromine liquid flow energy storage battery project
The project has patented technologies and a full set of production processes for key materials such as zinc-bromine flow battery microporous diaphragms and bipolar plates, and has independently developed a battery stack processing integration process, covering the entire process from materials to products, from energy storage systems to energy storage power station general contractors. The project currently has an annual production capacity of 200MWH, which can be expanded to 1.5GWH within two years and 4.5GWH by 2026.
Shanjin Optoelectronics Polarizer Global R&D Center and Production Line Expansion Project
Shanjin Optoelectronics (Nanjing) Co., Ltd. was established in October 2020 and completed the acquisition of LG Chem Nanjing's polarizer business in February 2021. It currently has 4 polarizer pre-engineering production lines and is the largest polarizer production base in China.
The project is planned to be located in the Xingang area of the development zone, and will be moved to the LG Chemical Polaroid Research Institute of South Korea. A new R&D center, functional center, production support center and pilot line will be built, and the polaroid production line will be expanded and upgraded.
After the project is completed, the number of R&D personnel will exceed 400, and the company will have the R&D and production capabilities for flexible OLED polarizers and new thin film materials.
