Jiwei.com recently discovered that Alibaba Cloud has begun to provide some invited users with a trial of its self-developed Arm architecture CPU instances that were successfully taped out last year. The invitation test period is from April 1 to June 30, 2022, and 100 instances are invited for testing.
The page information shows that this instance named g8m is based on its Arm v9 architecture processor. It is said that its performance exceeds the industry benchmark by 20%, its energy efficiency is 50% better than the industry benchmark, its computing power cost-effectiveness is improved by 100%, and its network and storage performance indicators are improved by 100% compared with the previous generation of Arm instances.
The processor, named Yitian 710, was released in October last year and is manufactured using TSMC's 5nm process.
