On March 31, CINNO Research released the "China Smartphone SoC Ranking in February" report, which showed that China's smartphone sales in February shrank both year-on-year and month-on-month, and the SoC market loading data also declined. Among them, MediaTek, Qualcomm, Apple, HiSilicon, and Unisoc ranked in the top five.

According to CINNO Research data, terminal sales in China's smartphone SoC market fell in February after increasing both month-on-month and year-on-year in January. The overall market terminal sales fell by about 24% month-on-month and about 20.5% year-on-year. The sharp year-on-year decline was mainly due to HiSilicon.

The report shows that in China's smartphone SoC market segment in February, Qualcomm and Unisoc's month-on-month declines were smaller than the overall market average, with Qualcomm's month-on-month decline of about 21.8%. Meanwhile, HiSilicon's decline was the largest, at about 28.2%, and MediaTek's decline was second, at about 25%.

In addition, Apple's smartphone SoC terminal sales in mainland China in February fell by 24.8% month-on-month. The reason is that demand fell after the hot sales in the fourth quarter of last year. Although it fell month-on-month, its total SoC terminal shipments were similar to the same period last year, with a year-on-year decline of only 4%.

HiSilicon and Unisoc are still ranked fourth and fifth. HiSilicon's method of controlling SoC inventory allows it to continue to maintain a certain sales volume in the market, but it still cannot fundamentally change the downward trend. It is worth noting that although it fell by 23.2% month-on-month, Unisoc grew by 1264.4% year-on-year, making it the only manufacturer with positive year-on-year growth.

According to the data of each brand, vivo is the largest terminal application brand of MediaTek, accounting for about 30.6%; OPPO is the largest terminal application brand of Qualcomm, accounting for about 24.2%; Honor is the largest terminal application brand of Unisoc, accounting for about 94.3%. In the future, Unisoc still needs to continue to seek more stable partners and continue to tap into product advantages.
