Apple reminded developers on Tuesday that the requirements for submitting apps to the App Store are about to change. Starting April 25, 2022, all apps created for Apple's platforms must be built using Xcode 13, the latest version of the SDK.

Apple said that Xcode 13 includes the latest versions of the SDK for its operating systems, including iOS 15, iPadOS 15, watchOS 8, and macOS Monterey. In this way, Apple will only accept new applications that are compatible with the latest versions of iOS, macOS, and other systems.

That is to say, developers must use Xcode 13 to develop their apps next month, and will support new APIs brought by iOS 15 and macOS Monterey, including SwiftUI, ARKit 5, Safari Extensions for iOS, ShazamKit and SharePlay.

Take advantage of the exciting features in iOS 15, iPadOS 15, and watchOS 8 to provide a more intuitive and valuable user experience. Improve the performance of your app by refactoring your code to take advantage of asynchronous functions in Swift. And with the latest update to SwiftUI, you can enhance your app with new features such as improved list views, better search experiences, and support for control focus areas.

It is worth noting that although newly developed apps must be built with the latest version of Xcode, they can still support older versions of Apple’s operating systems, such as iOS 14 and macOS Big Sur.
