Apple launched the third-generation iPhone SE this week, bringing upgrades including the A15 chip, 5G support, longer battery life, camera upgrades, and more durable glass. Although Apple officials did not publicize it, developers found that the new iPhone SE is also equipped with more RAM.
Developer Moritz Sternemann discovered that Apple's third-generation iPhone SE is equipped with 4GB of RAM, while previous models only had 3GB (confirmed by strings in the Xcode 13.3 RC version released after Apple "Peek Performance").
IT Home learned that previous Xcode strings have also accurately revealed the amount of RAM in several generations of iPhones and iPads. For example, last year's string clearly showed that Apple's sixth-generation iPad mini also increased to 4GB of RAM.
That is to say, although the appearance of the new phone has not changed much, the internal configuration has been upgraded to a certain extent. Thanks to this, the new iPhone SE can use photo and video editing apps more smoothly, and the extra RAM can also keep Safari active in the background.
Apple officially launched the iPhone SE 3 at its new product launch conference yesterday, equipped with an A15 processor.
It is reported that the iPhone SE 3 uses a powerful CPU with performance up to 1.8 times that of the iPhone 8, a 6-core central processing unit (2 performance cores and 4 energy efficiency cores), a 4-core graphics processor, a 16-core neural network engine, and supports 5G networks.
The iPhone SE 3 is available in black, white, and red. It is equipped with a 4.7-inch LCD display, a super-ceramic panel, and retains the classic Touch ID. It also has better battery life. In addition, the iPhone SE 3 is equipped with a 12-megapixel rear lens and an A15 bionic chip for even stronger camera capabilities.
In addition, the iPhone SE 3 adopts more environmentally friendly elements, abandoning plastic packaging boxes and so on.
IT Home learned that the iPhone SE 3 starts at US$429 (RMB 3,499) and has three storage versions: 64GB, 128GB, and 256GB. It will be officially launched on March 18.
