Jiangsu: Support integrated circuit enterprises and software enterprises to strengthen the use of intellectual property rights

Recently, the 28th meeting of the Standing Committee of the 13th Jiangsu Provincial People's Congress reviewed and passed the "Regulations on the Promotion and Protection of Intellectual Property Rights in Jiangsu Province", which mentioned the relevant contents of integrated circuit layout design many times.

The Regulations state that the copyright department is responsible for the promotion and protection of copyrights in accordance with the law. The intellectual property department is responsible for the promotion and protection of patents, trademarks, geographical indications and integrated circuit layout designs in accordance with the law.

Encourage organizations and individuals to register for exclusive rights to integrated circuit layout designs and computer software copyrights, and support integrated circuit companies and software companies to strengthen the use of intellectual property rights. Organizations and individuals who complete computer software copyright registration and software product registration may be rewarded in accordance with regulations.

Institutions of higher learning and research institutes may, in accordance with relevant national regulations, grant the person who completes the patents, computer software copyrights, integrated circuit layout design rights, plant variety rights and other intellectual property rights obtained with financial funds ownership or long-term use rights, and make agreements on the profit distribution method, proportion and dispute resolution method, etc.; however, this does not apply to matters that may harm national security or major social public interests.
