Last week, Google pushed two new features to the Goggle Fit health management software for Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro users, allowing users to use the rear camera of the phone to detect their heart rate without wearing wearable devices such as smart watches, and to detect the user's chest condition through the front camera of the phone to obtain the user's breathing rate.

IT Home learned that the heart rate detection function is achieved by using the camera of Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro to identify subtle changes on the user's index finger. The new version of Google Fit can identify the user's heart rate through this data and get the user's specific heart rate value within a few seconds. If the user wants to use this function, after opening the new version of Google Fit, slide down from the health information area at the top of the page to the "Discover" area, find the "Check Heart Rate" function card, click the "Start" button on the card, and touch the index finger to the rear camera to start heart rate monitoring. The respiratory rate detection function uses the front camera of the phone to detect the rise and fall of the user's chest to obtain the detection value result.

It should be noted that these two features have not been fully launched yet. On some users' phones, these two features are marked as "early experience". In terms of accuracy, the test of foreign media 9To5Google shows that in the case of sufficient external light, the accuracy of the heart rate detection function is very high, while in darker places, the final result will have a deviation of about 30 bpm.
