On the afternoon of September 9, IC design company MediaTek held a media conference and officially launched the second chip product in the Xunkun series, Xunkun 900T. This chip is mainly aimed at the tablet market and is optimized for light office, online learning, network connection, multimedia and other aspects.
Under the influence of the epidemic, the demand for online office and online education has exploded, reactivating the mobile computing market and causing a surge in tablet shipments. Against this backdrop, MediaTek launched a new mobile computing platform brand - Xunkun.
MediaTek launches the Xunkun brand
The new brand Xunkun is derived from MediaTek's Kompanio series. MediaTek said that Xunkun's goal is to target the vast mobile computing device market. The name Kun, which has super energy, super speed and huge body, symbolizes the powerful computing power of Xunkun mobile computing series chips. With strong computing power and ultra-low power consumption as core advantages, it can provide a solid computing power foundation for mobile computing devices, allowing users to have a smooth experience of "walking like a fish".
Previously, MediaTek released a high-end product in the Xunkun series: Xunkun 1300T, which was first used on the Honor Tablet V7 Pro. Today, MediaTek released the second chip in the Xunkun series, Xunkun 900T.
MediaTek Xunkun Series New Products
This chip has been optimized for light office work and online learning: the stylus delay is shortened to 8 milliseconds; it supports multi-window application running; it supports Bluetooth 5.2; and it also has MediaTek's third-generation AI processor, which can achieve intelligent background blur.
MediaTek Xunkun 900T specifications
In terms of multimedia, Xunkun 900T can adapt to 2K resolution 120Hz refresh rate screens and support intelligent dynamic frame rate technology. Xunkun 900T supports the playback of videos in HDR10, HDR10+ and Dolby Vision formats. The chip is equipped with MediaTek MiraVision image quality engine, which can intelligently enhance video display quality and enhance SDR video content to a display effect close to HDR. Xunkun 900T also supports multiple AI applications, such as intelligent image optimization, video super resolution, etc.
In terms of network connection, Xunkun 900T supports the latest and fastest Wi-Fi 6 technology, and also supports 5G high-speed rail mode, maintaining stable and fast 5G connection in various occasions.
In terms of specifications, Xunkun 900T adopts 6nm process technology, octa-core CPU architecture design, including 2 Arm Cortex-A78 performance cores and 6 Arm Cortex-A55 high-efficiency cores, equipped with Arm Mali-G68 GPU and AI processor MediaTek APU. Xunkun 900T supports LPDDR5+UFS 3.1, 108-megapixel camera projection, Bluetooth 5.2, 2x2 MIMO WiFi 6, 5G dual full network access, and 4K30 recording.
From the hardware parameters, Xunkun 900T is very similar to Dimensity 900. MediaTek mainly optimized and improved some scenarios for users to use tablets. This idea is almost the same as the previous comparison between Xunkun 1300T and Dimensity 1200.
