On July 29, Horizon officially released the Horizon Journey 5, a full-scenario vehicle intelligent central computing chip, becoming the industry's only provider of full-scenario vehicle intelligent chip solutions covering from L2 to L4.
Jiwei.com learned that Journey 5 is the third-generation automotive-grade product following the mass production of Journey 2 and Journey 3, China's automotive-grade artificial intelligence chips. It has both high computing power and high performance. The AI computing power of a single chip can reach up to 128 TOPS, supporting 16-channel camera perception computing, efficient collaboration with every millisecond counts, and can support the multi-sensor fusion, prediction and planning control required for autonomous driving. It can be called the most powerful "digital engine".
Yu Kai, founder and CEO of Horizon Robotics, said at the press conference, "Horizon Robotics insists on being a Tier 2 company. We do not mass-produce hardware, do not bundle software, and do not provide closed solutions." Horizon Robotics has launched an open ecosystem strategy, using the "all-dimensional altruism" mentality to release fresh water for the smart car industry, helping the industry to resonate and develop in a coordinated manner.
Horizon also released TogetherOS™, a real-time in-vehicle operating system based on the seL4 secure microkernel architecture. This operating system adopts an open software architecture, and all industry ecosystem partners can participate in the co-construction. Currently, Horizon has reached in-depth cooperation with the Linux Foundation's ELISA open source project, embracing the Safety Linux open ecosystem and actively participating in its construction, while using Linux basic solutions and security enhancement mechanisms to meet the functional safety goals of the overall system safety.
In the future, Horizon will actively seek cooperation with more open source communities, participate in the automotive operating system standardization project of the State Administration of Automotive Standards, and work with the entire industry to build an underlying foundation for an automotive-grade real-time security operating system, making the open ecosystem of in-vehicle OS more prosperous.
It is worth noting that Horizon announced that it will open source TogetherOS and work with smart car industry ecosystem partners to jointly build an open ecosystem for in-vehicle OS.
At the press conference, Horizon Robotics announced that it had reached an ecological partnership with AutoCore, Banma Intelligent Driving, Changan Automobile, Great Wall Motor, JAC Group, SAIC Group, and Lion Technology.
