Recently, a Huawei patent on a "wireless charging glasses case" was exposed. From this, it is not difficult to see that although Huawei has suffered setbacks in its smartphone business, it is also actively exploring other fields.
At present, smart glasses are basically charged by wired charging. If we continue to use wired charging, we need to set up a charging port on the glasses. For devices like glasses, the space for setting up a charging port is relatively small, which is not convenient for setting up a charging port.
At the same time, when users charge smart glasses, they usually need to manually align them accurately to charge, which makes the user's charging experience poor. In addition, in existing solutions, the wired charging interface is usually an open interface, and we can see that the conductive parts (metal connection points) are exposed. Such a design is not conducive to the waterproof design of smart glasses.
To this end, Huawei applied for an invention patent on February 25, 2019 entitled "Glasses box that can be used for wireless charging, wireless charging glasses and wireless charging kit" (application number: 201910138202.5), and the applicant was Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd.
In this patent, Huawei invented a glasses box technology equipped with wireless charging, which shows that Huawei intends to solve the above problems through wireless charging. According to the relevant information currently disclosed in the patent, let's take a look at the invention patent of this wireless charging box.
As shown in the figure above, it is a schematic diagram of the three-dimensional structure of the wirelessly rechargeable glasses case invented in the patent. In addition to the space for storing glasses, the glasses case 1 also contains N transmitting coils for wireless charging. The transmitting coil can transfer corresponding power to the receiving coil, thereby realizing wireless charging. And the position of the transmitting coil can be flexibly adjusted to achieve alignment with the receiving coil.
As shown in the figure above, it is a cross-sectional view of the glasses box for wireless charging. The glasses box includes a back piece 11 and an isolating piece 12. The back piece and the isolating piece are arranged as a U-shaped groove structure. The main bodies arranged on the back piece and the isolating piece are parallel to each other and arranged opposite to each other, and cooperate with each other to form a first space (the first space is used to accommodate the charging coil). At the same time, the back piece also serves as a part of the back wall of the glasses box body.
The isolator is made of a material that is transparent to the electromagnetic field or does not affect the penetration of the electromagnetic field, such as wood, plastic, etc. In the first space, a plurality of transmitting coils are arranged, which are usually hollow coil structures and are arranged in a rectangular, circular or elliptical shape.
From the above figure, we can also see that a main board 13 is arranged in the first space, and the main board includes a first slide rail extending along the x direction, which can carry the transmitting coil, so that the transmitting coil can adjust its position along the first slide rail in the x direction. At the same time, in the solution of this patent, two optional slide rail setting schemes are adopted. The first is that there is only one slide rail, and N transmitting coils share one slide rail; the second is that there are N slide rails, and N transmitting coils adjust their positions on their corresponding slide rails.
In order to facilitate the operation of the slide rail, an operating handle 16 is also provided on the transmitting coil. The operating handle extends from the first space. By turning the operating handle, the position of the transmitting coil can be adjusted in the x direction to help the glasses box equipped with wireless charging to charge glasses of different sizes.
The above is the glasses case with wireless charging function invented by Huawei. This glasses case can automatically adjust the position of the transmitting coil for wireless charging according to the width of the frame, providing users with a more convenient wireless charging experience. At the same time, the glasses case can be connected to the user's smart glasses when it is opened, without the need for the user to manually initiate it, which reduces the user's waiting time and improves the user experience.
