LG has filed a new patent for a rolling OLED TV that features a screen that rolls sideways. While the company has shown rolling TVs in the past, this one is unique due to the dual scrolling mechanism on its screen.
According to LetsGoDigital, the South Korean tech giant has been granted a design patent by the Hague International Design System. The patent is called "Rollable Display Television" and in its rolled-up shape, the TV resembles an elongated speaker shape with rounded sides. Both sides of the device have displays that can be pulled out. When pulled out, the display unfolds from the two housing units.
The company has already shown off LG's iconic OLED TV R, which launched a rollable display from its base. But unlike that model, this rollable TV is more compact and has a triangular structure that extends horizontally rather than vertically. Looking at the design sketch from the back, you can see that the display is supported by a T-shaped frame.
Are you looking forward to such a futuristic TV?
