According to the news of Investment Yantai, recently, Yantai Yida Venture Capital Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Yida Economic Development Group, jointly with Yantai municipal platform companies and listed companies in Yantai Development Zone, established a partnership and invested 50 million yuan in a key domestic semiconductor industry project - Xi'an Yiswei Silicon Wafer Project.
On December 9, 2017, Beijing Eswin Company, Xi'an High-tech Zone and Beijing Core Energy Company jointly signed a letter of intent for investment cooperation in the silicon industry base project. According to the letter of intent, the total investment in the project exceeds 10 billion yuan. After completion, the project will become a production base for the research and development and production of 300mm (12-inch) silicon wafers, with a monthly production capacity of 500,000 pieces and an annual output value of approximately 4.5 billion yuan. The ultimate goal is to become a 12-inch silicon material enterprise with a monthly production capacity of 1 million pieces and an annual output value of over 10 billion yuan.
The project started construction in May 2018. In January 2019, the Xi'an Yisiwei Silicon Industry Base project was officially capped.
After the Xi'an Yiswei silicon wafer project reaches full production, it is expected to produce 500,000 silicon wafers per month, meeting more than 20% of the domestic market demand.
Investment in Yantai News pointed out that Yantai Economic and Technological Development Zone is based on advanced manufacturing and strives to build a new generation of information technology industry cluster. At present, Yida Economic Development Group has invested in and supported a number of electronic technology companies in the zone, including Qixin Semiconductor Technology Research Institute, Xiaye Electronics, Xiayan Technology, Yinuo Electronics, etc., with an investment scale of more than 260 million yuan. This foreign investment will be the first time to build a direct bridge for the introduction of electronic information industry resources in the development zone, effectively enabling the transformation of new and old kinetic energy and high-quality development of the development zone.
