According to Nikkei Asia Review, people familiar with the matter revealed that the successor to Apple's M1 chip has entered mass production this month.

People familiar with the matter said that the new chipset is tentatively named M2 and may start shipping as early as July, and is planned to be used in the MacBook to be launched in the second half of the year. In addition to the MacBook, it will eventually be used in other Macs and Apple devices. The M2 chip is produced by TSMC and uses the latest 5-nanometer plus (N5P) process technology.

Recently, Apple CEO Tim Cook said that sales of MacBook Air, MacBook Pro, and Mac mini equipped with M1 now account for the majority of Mac sales, surpassing Mac computers equipped with Intel processors.
