"The industrial Internet is the product of the deep integration of the new generation of information technology and manufacturing. It is not only the core support for a strong manufacturing country, but also an important part of a strong network country. It has important strategic significance for the realization of the '14th Five-Year Plan'." Yang Yuanqing, deputy to the National People's Congress and chairman and CEO of Lenovo Group, told Science and Technology Daily, "Improving the modernization level of the industrial chain, promoting high-quality economic development, and building a new development pattern are inseparable from the key support of the industrial Internet."
Yang Yuanqing pointed out that the industrial Internet is an important tool to improve the modernization level of industrial chains and supply chains and enhance the independent and controllable capabilities of industrial chains and supply chains; the development of the industrial Internet will help promote supply-side reform, promote and create consumer demand with higher-quality supply, stimulate the vitality of super-large-scale markets, expand domestic demand, and lay a more solid foundation for the domestic circulation, providing important support for building a new development pattern; breakthroughs in key core technologies in the field of industrial Internet will help strengthen the country's strategic scientific and technological strength.
According to the "Industrial Internet Innovation and Development Action Plan (2021-2023)" issued by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, in the next three years, my country will achieve industrial breakthroughs in a number of key technologies in the fields of network, identification, platform, security, etc.; the supply capacity of industrial software, industrial control systems, etc. will be significantly enhanced; and a unified, integrated, and open industrial Internet standard system will be basically established. Breakthroughs in basic innovation capabilities will support my country's innovative development to a greater extent and provide fertile soil for the implementation of new technologies, new formats, and new models.
In Yang Yuanqing's view, my country has obvious advantages in developing the industrial Internet. The complete industrial system and strong manufacturing industry cluster have brought about a wealth of industrial Internet application scenarios and a market with great potential. At the same time, in the core technologies of the industrial Internet such as the Internet of Things, cloud computing, VR/AR, and artificial intelligence based on big data, my country's research and development level and application scale are at the world's leading level, which strongly supports the development of the industrial Internet.
In 2018, "developing industrial Internet platforms" was written into the government work report for the first time, and subsequently, my country's industrial Internet has shown a booming development trend. According to statistics from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, there are currently more than 70 industrial Internet platforms with certain industry and regional influence in my country, which are widely used in more than 30 key industries of the national economy and connect 40 million sets of industrial equipment.
After three years of initial development, China's industrial Internet network support capabilities have been significantly improved, integrated applications have accelerated in-depth expansion, and the industry driving effect has continued to increase. It has initially built an industrial Internet infrastructure and industrial system, created a number of high-level public service platforms, and cultivated a number of leading enterprises and solution providers.
In this process, the integrated application of "5G+Industrial Internet" in manufacturing has attracted much attention from the industry.
At present, my country has more than 1,100 "5G+Industrial Internet" integrated innovation construction projects, which have taken the lead in development in industries such as manufacturing, aviation, steel, mining, and ports. Six typical application scenarios have emerged, including data collection and perception, high-definition video, machine vision, precise remote control, on-site assistance, and digital twins.
"With the accelerated expansion of application scenarios, continuous increase in policy support, and gradual strengthening of shortcomings and weaknesses, 5G and the industrial Internet will achieve a wider range, deeper degree, and higher level of integrated development." Yang Yuanqing said.
