Following China Unicom, China Telecom and China Mobile, the fourth largest operator is finally taking action, and it is China Radio and Television.

The launch of 5G numbers for radio and television is getting closer. Recently, there was news that China Radio and Television said it would promote the subsequent integration of non-listed provincial network companies and promote the renaming and listing of provincial network subsidiaries.

There are also reports that China Radio and Television will release 5G numbers as early as the second quarter of this year. This is not the first time that the news of "China Radio and Television 5G numbers will be released soon" has been heard. On June 6, 2019, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology officially issued 5G commercial licenses, and China Radio and Television obtained the fourth 5G commercial license in addition to the three major operators.

Some professionals said that it has been more than a year since the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology issued 5G commercial licenses, and China Radio and Television obtained the 192 number segment two years ago. Even if China Radio and Television can successfully issue 5G numbers in the second quarter of this year, it has been delayed for too long.

In fact, the 192 number of China Radio and Television has successfully completed call tests in more than 20 provinces across the country. Interestingly, during the test, they used numbers such as 192+local area code+0001/0002. In contrast, the other three major operators used numbers such as 4***, which are not easily chosen by users.

Regarding the entry of radio and television, industry insiders said that whether number portability can bring new users to radio and television 5G depends on the market competitiveness of radio and television 5G tariff packages. However, the current tariff package prices are as low as a dozen yuan, and there is limited room for decline. In terms of 5G services, radio and television may not necessarily have more advantages.
