If nothing unexpected happens, Qualcomm will have another cost-effective processor.
Recently, according to digital blogger @数码闲聊站, a new vivo phone appeared on the testing platform Geekbench, and it seemed to be equipped with a new Qualcomm processor.
According to the blogger, the processor of the new vivo phone is an ultra-high frequency version of sm8250 (Snapdragon 865). Not only has the main frequency been increased from 2.84GHz of the regular version to 3.19GHz, but the GPU frequency will also be higher, which may be Snapdragon 870.
Judging from the Geekbench platform scores, the vivo V2045 has a single-core score of 1034 and a multi-core score of 3513. It runs the Android 11 operating system and is equipped with 12GB of memory.
The OnePlus 8 Pro, equipped with Snapdragon 865, has a single-core score of 876 and a multi-core score of 3053. It runs the Android 11 operating system and is equipped with 12GB of memory.
The vivo V2049A (iQOO 7) equipped with Snapdragon 888 has a single-core score of 1136 and a multi-core score of 3700. It runs the Android 11 operating system and is equipped with 12GB of memory.
Judging from the scores, the performance of vivo V2045 is between OnePlus 8 Pro and iQOO 7, and the processor performance is closer to Snapdragon 888.
It seems that the processor of vivo V2045 is not Snapdragon 865 Plus, but a brand new processor. And the main frequency of Snapdragon 865 Plus is 3.1GHz, which is obviously inconsistent with the 3.19GHz mentioned by the blogger.
In addition, the blogger revealed relevant information about Snapdragon 870 as early as last year. Due to high-frequency debugging reasons, no model adopted it.
Now it seems that Qualcomm has had the idea of launching the Snapdragon 870 for a long time, but it may have been delayed due to debugging issues. Since the vivo V2045 has appeared on Geekbench, the new phone should not be far away.
It is worth mentioning that recently, Chen Jin, general manager of Lenovo Group's China mobile phone business department, announced that Motorola's new flagship is coming soon, equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon 8XX processor. If nothing unexpected happens, this mysterious processor may also be Snapdragon 870.
