vivo WATCH review: Focus on sports and health, standby for more than two weeks

vivo WATCH has two dial sizes, 42mm and 46mm, and comes in four different color schemes: Mocha Brown, Secret Summer Orange, Fashion Silver and Shadow Black. The one we got is the 46mm Shadow Black body with a pine needle green strap version.

The front of vivo WATCH uses a 1.39-inch AMOLED high-definition display with a resolution of 454x454 and a pixel density of 326 PPI. vivo also provides many trendy and cool watch face designs. You can change the watch face by pressing and holding the screen with your finger, or you can adjust it through the APP.

The vivo WATCH watch body is made of 316L stainless steel, which is more durable, wear-resistant, and corrosion-resistant, and is not prone to allergies when worn for a long time. A large number of etching processes have been added to the watch body, which ultimately presents a bright fog effect, adding a sense of refinement. The bezel is made of ceramic material and also uses a laser centripetal wire drawing process. The texture is fine, just like carbon steel, and it will also present a deep and delicate luster when the wrist is turned.

The back of the vivo WATCH body adopts a 3D glass curved design, which reduces the contact area between the case and the wrist skin, and does not affect the comfort of long-term wear. A special Fresnel film is injected above the sensor to create a transparent and shiny craftsmanship texture while taking into account the accuracy of monitoring.

The vivo WATCH uses two strap materials: Nappa leather and fluororubber. The pine needle green color we got is made of fluororubber, which has excellent anti-oxidation, oil resistance and corrosion resistance, and is skin-friendly and comfortable.

The thickness of vivo WATCH 46mm is 10.6mm and it weighs 46.8g (without the strap). It doesn't feel heavy when you wear it. vivo WATCH is also waterproof to 50 meters and can be worn while swimming.

The vivo WATCH is equipped with a 478mAh battery, supports magnetic charging, and uses a low-power embedded system designed for long-lasting smart watches. The dual-chip platform consists of a micro main control chip and an Apollo ultra-low power coprocessor, and the system-level power saving optimization achieves long-lasting battery life, which the official claims can be up to 18 days. In actual use, if the screen is turned off, it can be used for more than two weeks after being fully charged.

vivo WATCH is equipped with a 6-sensor system, including a 5-core optical heart rate and blood oxygen sensor, an altimeter, an ambient light sensor, a multi-positioning system, etc. These complex and precise sensors are integrated into a small body, providing accurate data and information support for the realization of multiple functions. vivo WATCH has diversified functions such as all-day calorie monitoring, sleep monitoring, high-precision continuous blood oxygen saturation monitoring, and stress detection. The wearer can see various indicators of his body at any time, and the data is interoperable with the mobile phone, so he can check his health at any time.

vivo WATCH supports 11 sports modes including running (indoor/outdoor), swimming, cycling (indoor/outdoor), mountaineering, cross-country running, elliptical machine, HIIT, free training, and walking. It can track and measure in common sports modes. When you are cycling, running or walking, it will automatically identify the motion status and remind the user whether to enter the corresponding motion mode. After clicking confirm, it will enter the "outdoor walking" mode and record the current motion data in real time.

In addition to detecting physical conditions, it also includes an emergency rescue function. When the watch detects that the wearer has fallen seriously, the emergency rescue state will be turned on. If the vibration reminder is not exited within one minute, a rescue text message containing the geographic location will be sent to the emergency contact. This function is very suitable for people living alone or the elderly at home.

vivo WATCH quantifies daily energy consumption and can accurately convey calorie consumption to users anytime and anywhere. When making drastic or subtle movements such as walking, running, getting up, standing, etc., consumption will also be recorded. Users can adjust their diet structure at any time based on calorie consumption records, and energy intake will be more scientific.

In addition, there are many "interactive" experiences between vivo WATCH and vivo mobile phones. For example, it can act as a shutter for the mobile phone, which is quite suitable for taking selfies; or you can receive notification reminders on the mobile phone and efficiently manage important schedules. vivo WATCH can be described as your "personal assistant". You can call the familiar personal assistant Jovi on the watch. It can be used with other Android phones to measure heart rate, check weather, set alarms, and other functions by voice.

In addition to the new color straps for spring 2021, vivo WATCH has also ushered in a new upgrade in the system experience, bringing nearly 600 visual and touch optimizations covering icons, interfaces, animations, etc., as well as more than 30 functional updates and optimizations.

In the custom watch face of vivo WATCH, you can set the picture in the mobile phone album as the watch face. Whether it is a casually taken landscape or a long-collected beautiful picture, you can put it on the watch face and present it every time you raise your wrist. Open the "Sports Health" App on your mobile phone > "Device" > "Watch Management" > "My Watch Face", select the custom watch face to set it. Currently, only one photo can be set. The "Multi-Timepiece" watch face does not support setting the digital timepiece style.

You can set up to 4 quick function widgets on the vivo WATCH watch face, including date, current altitude, current air pressure, current temperature, current weather phenomena, air quality, today's activities, steps, standing, calories, exercise time, heart rate, pressure, breathing, exercise, exercise status and battery level, 17 quick function widgets to choose from.

vivo WATCH has added three new AOD always-on watch faces; the watch face store has added digital custom watch faces and many other watch faces. Open the watch's "Settings-Screen Display", find and turn on the "Off Screen Display" function, and then select your favorite AOD watch face.

vivo WATCH is deeply connected with Jovi Smart Life, which can efficiently help you remotely control smart home, turn on and off lights, air conditioners, water heaters and other home appliances. Download Jovi Smart Life on your phone, add related smart home devices, long press the bottom button of the watch to wake up Jovi voice, and issue a command to turn on/off the smart socket to control it. Currently, it only supports vivo and other Android phones, and supports 10 brands and 9 categories of products. For specific product models, you can search and confirm whether it is supported on the Add Device page of "Jovi Smart Life", and add binding for use.

vivo WATCH also supports mobile phone music playback control. After the phone is playing music, open the "Music" function of vivo WATCH, click the "Watch Icon" in the lower right corner to switch to the "Mobile Icon", and then the watch can control the phone to play music, supporting operations such as adjusting the volume, pausing/playing, and playing the previous/next song. It supports iMusic, NetEase Cloud Music, QQ Music, Kugou Music, Kuwo Music and Xiami Music, but not Apple phones.
