Cambrian announced today (21) that it has signed a contract with Nanjing Science and Technology Innovation Investment Co., Ltd. for the procurement of intelligent computing equipment for the Nanjing Intelligent Computing Center Project (Phase I).
It is reported that the contract amount is 300 million yuan. According to the contract, Cambrian will provide intelligent hardware systems and artificial intelligence computing power platforms.
Cambrian also pointed out in the announcement that according to the terms of the contract, the company needs to settle the project in stages according to the progress of the project performance, and there is uncertainty about the impact of the project on the company's current performance. If the contract is successfully fulfilled, it will have a positive impact on the company's business development and operating performance during the project execution period.
According to public information, Cambricon's main business is the research and development, design and sales of artificial intelligence core chips used in various cloud servers, edge computing devices and terminal devices, providing customers with a wealth of chip products and system software solutions. The company's main products include terminal intelligent processor IP, cloud intelligent chips and acceleration cards, edge intelligent chips and acceleration cards, and basic system software platforms supporting the above products.
It is worth mentioning that Cambrian attaches great importance to technological research and development. In 2017, 2018 and 2019, the company's R&D expenses were RMB 29.8619 million, RMB 240.111 million and RMB 543.0454 million respectively, and the R&D expense rates were 380.73%, 205.18% and 122.32% respectively.
