According to public information, USI was established in March 2003. It is a large-scale design and manufacturing service provider that provides professional design and manufacturing services and solutions in the field of electronic products. It is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Universal Scientific Industrial Co., Ltd. under the ASE Group. Its main business provides domestic and foreign brand manufacturers with development and design, material procurement, production and manufacturing, logistics, maintenance and other professional services for communications, consumer electronics, computers, storage, industrial, automotive electronics and other types of electronic products.
In fact, the growth in orders for SiP module products of USI is very impressive, which has also significantly boosted its overall performance. In addition, the capacity utilization rate and gross profit margin of such products have increased year-on-year.
It is reported that in terms of SiP wireless chip modules, USI has cooperated with well-known North American wireless communication chip manufacturers to develop smaller and more powerful WM-BAX-BM-62SiP wireless module products. Samples of this chip module will be provided to first-tier brand mobile phone customers for evaluation and testing at the end of the second quarter of 2020, and will be provided to other customers after the fourth quarter of this year.
In addition, not long ago, USI announced that it held a groundbreaking ceremony for its Vietnam plant in Dinh Vu Industrial Park, Hai'an District, Haiphong City, Vietnam. The first phase of the plant is expected to be completed in the second quarter of 2021 and officially put into production in the third quarter. In the initial stage, it will mainly focus on the production and assembly of wearable electronic device chips.
