Earlier, Apple announced that starting from January 1 next year, developers with annual revenue of less than $1 million can reduce the App Store commission rate to 15%. Recently, Apple made another concession on the App Store commission rate. Apple said that from the end of the year to June 2021, companies that provide digital courses or hold virtual events through iPhone apps will not be able to use the App Store's in-app purchase function.

According to the App Store Review 3.1.1 guidelines, apps need to provide any paid online group activity experience through in-app purchases. However, during the epidemic, Apple introduced a new rule that companies that provide digital courses or hold virtual events can charge customers directly without paying Apple a 30% commission fee, which will help companies hold more paid digital events during the epidemic instead of face-to-face events.

The original deadline for this regulation was December 2020, but Apple has temporarily postponed the deadline. Apple said that in order to give companies more time to develop in-app purchase solutions, the deadline has been extended to June 30, 2021.
