Samsung is about to kill off another of its own services. The company announced earlier this week that it will shut down the S Translator service on December 1, 2020. The service was launched as an alternative to Google and Microsoft translation services.
S Translator has not gained much fans among Samsung smartphone users, and the service is mostly available only on high-end Galaxy devices. Samsung's announcement mentioned that all the information collected from users by the service will be destroyed on the same day.
Samsung also thanked S Translator users for their interest and use of the service over the years. S Translator offers language translation between 11 languages: Brazilian Portuguese, English (UK), English (US), French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Russian, Simplified Chinese and Spanish.
IT Home has learned that Samsung is working to streamline its mobile application ecosystem and has previously shut down several services, such as S Voice, Mirrorlink, and Find My Car. It's hard to say whether Samsung has finished killing its unpopular services, but Bixby may be next on the list.
