According to market research firm IDC, China will continue to lead the global 5G market, due to relatively low 5G package pricing and more users purchasing 5G devices. IDC said that the starting price of the iPhone 12 series is $699 (RMB 5,499), the same as last year. But this year's iPhone 12 not only improves the screen-to-body ratio but also adds 5G capabilities. In addition, for users of iPhone 7 and iPhone 8, the iPhone 12 mini will be the best device for them to upgrade to 5G phones.

They believe that based on the already very wide coverage of domestic 5G, the release of iPhone 12 can inject new energy into the currently struggling smartphone market. To some extent, iPhone 12 will also help the continued development of domestic 5G.

According to forecasts, global 5G smartphone shipments could reach 240 million units in 2020, with the Chinese market contributing about two-thirds of that. In the next five years, China will continue to account for more than 50% of 5G mobile phone market shipments.
