According to the Shanghai Public Account, today, the Shanghai Municipal Government and Huawei signed a framework agreement on deepening strategic cooperation and the groundbreaking ceremony for the Huawei Qingpu R&D Center project was held.
Gong Zheng, deputy secretary of the municipal party committee and mayor, and Liang Hua, chairman of Huawei, attended the event. Wu Qing, member of the municipal party committee and deputy mayor, and Ren Shulu, senior vice president of Huawei, signed the contract on behalf of both parties. The two parties also jointly launched the Qingpu R&D center project and inspected the project sandbox.
According to the framework agreement, the two parties will adhere to the principle of "pragmatism, efficiency and win-win cooperation" to strengthen cooperation in technology research and development, demonstration application, integrated innovation and other aspects in the fields of integrated circuits, software and information services, Internet of Things, Internet of Vehicles, Industrial Internet, and smart city demonstration applications, expand Huawei's business scope in Shanghai, promote the innovative development of Shanghai's information industry, and advance the construction of new infrastructure and smart cities.
Huawei Qingpu R&D Center project is located in Jinze Town, Qingpu District, with a total land area of about 2,400 mu. The project will be divided into two blocks: the first is Huawei R&D Center, located in Xicen Community, Jinze Town, with a planned land area of 2,400 mu (1,400 mu in the first phase and 1,000 mu in the second phase), with a planned construction area of more than 1 million square meters, mainly used for scientific research, office and supporting facilities, such as R&D office buildings, laboratories, data centers, conference halls, high-end exhibition halls, canteens and ancillary facilities, etc., and is expected to introduce 30,000 scientific and technological R&D talents; the second is Huawei Talent Apartment, located west of Fuxing Road, Zhujiajiao Town, with a total land area of about 44 hectares, which will be used to solve the housing problem of Huawei employees.
