When I was in primary school, the school organized a Children's Day with party performances, gifts and school supplies for everyone. Every floor celebrated with water balloons and streamers. In middle school, it was all spontaneous, but it was bad if the teacher found out. In high school, I didn't do it because of my studies. In my senior year, my Chinese teacher gave our two classes chicken dolls, which was also unforgettable. In college, it depends on your preference. You still have to have innocence! The most memorable June 1st was probably the last time I celebrated it, when I was in fifth grade. After I entered middle school, there was no more June 1st holiday, so I never had the chance to celebrate it.

When we celebrated Children's Day, we went to the park to play on the slides and swings. The park was free for children that day. The reason why I remember that time so deeply is that it was the first time in my life that I drank kvass and saw an electronic game console. Kvass is produced in Harbin and is bottled in beer bottles. It tastes pretty good. The game console was imported, with a color screen. The game content was a spaceship hitting a flying saucer, the simplest kind. It cost one dollar to play once, which was simply a sky-high price. I didn't have that much money at all. Later, when I went to college, a meal didn't cost one dollar, which shows how much one dollar meant in elementary school. I watched for a long time, and finally the staff on site gave me and my classmates a chance to try it out. At that time, it was still several years before the first game hall opened. It seems that I have never celebrated Children's Day specially since I was a child. When I was in primary school, I lived in the village. Children's Day was the busy farming season, and the teachers in the school went home to do farm work during the holiday. There were no teachers organizing group activities or outings for students. After I entered junior high school, I didn't even think about it. Children's Day was no longer our holiday.

When I was in primary school, a few girls like me would start rehearsing dances about a month before Children's Day. I remember that at first the teacher selected us to teach dances, but later, for some reason, after we were promoted to a higher grade, we girls formed a group. The teacher didn't organize us, and we would organize ourselves to choose songs and choreograph dances at about the same time. I remember one year we agreed to wear white vest skirts. But it was very cold on Children's Day that year, and our parents didn't allow us to wear skirts. They all wore pants with mid-length sleeves. They didn't tell me, so I was the only one who stupidly went in wearing the vest and white skirt that we had agreed on before. I was frozen to death. As a post-80s, I grew up in the rural areas of Northeast China. I remember that when I was a child, the primary school had a half-day holiday on Children's Day. As a primary school student in the countryside at that time, I didn't have much concept of Children's Day. There were no gifts, no delicious food. The only thing that made me happy was that I had a half-day holiday and could play with my friends. I remember that on this day of June 1st, the rice in the countryside had been planted, and there would be many frogs in the rice fields (the rural areas at that time still had no concept of protecting beneficial insects). Together with my friends, we used bamboo poles and bicycle spokes (ground into iron needles) tied to the bamboo poles to catch frogs. The captured frogs were processed on the spot~~~~started a bonfire--barbecued~~~~it was indeed a delicacy back then. I miss it very much, and I was very happy to be with my friends;;;;

When I was a kid, I also had a class festival in the morning and had a holiday in the afternoon. My child does the same now. Back then, I also went out with my best friends in the afternoon. I don’t remember what we did. I just remember that I was very happy during the holiday.
