Recently, North Latitude 38 Integrated Circuit Manufacturing Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "BWIC"), located in Xinzhou Economic Development Zone, Shanxi Province, carried out its first equipment entry.
According to Shanxi Pictorial, the company's general manager Jiang Jian said that it is expected to be officially put into production in another six months.
Founded in 2018 and located in Xinzhou City, Shanxi Province at 38 degrees north latitude, BWIC is a professional wafer foundry service company for 6-inch GaAs compound semiconductor IC chips.
According to its official website, the company has built a new 6-inch gallium arsenide integrated circuit production line, which will be managed and operated by a Chinese and Japanese team with rich experience in compound semiconductor production and research and development. It can provide high-quality, high-efficiency pseudo-high electron mobility transistor (pHEMT) process technology.
In May this year, the infrastructure construction of the BWIC plant was completed and was in the acceptance stage. According to Xinhua News Agency at the time, Jiang Jian, general manager of BWIC, said that after reaching full production, if all chips are used to manufacture mobile phones, more than 300 million mobile phone RF module chips can be manufactured each year.
