HKC's 11th-generation LCD panel project was announced to be located in Zhengzhou two years ago, but it has not been started yet. Recently, Feng Mingming, deputy director of HKC Chongqing Advanced Optoelectronic Display Technology Research Institute, revealed that HKC's originally planned 11th-generation line was shelved for various reasons, one of which was that the 11th-generation line had great challenges in cost accounting, so HKC assigned the task of large-size panel production to the 8.6th-generation line.
It is understood that HKC currently has a total of three 8.6-generation lines. The Chuzhou 8.6-generation line has entered mass production, the Mianyang 8.6-generation line was lit up and put into production in April this year, and the Liuyang 8.6-generation line has been topped out and is scheduled to go into mass production next year.
Feng Mingming believes that HKC's 8.6-generation line adopts the MMG cutting design, which is more efficient and cost-effective. It can produce ultra-large-size 4K/8K 115-inch, 100-inch, 85-inch, 70-inch, 65-inch, 55-inch, and 50-inch LCD panels, helping to make up for the lack of HKC's 11th-generation line.
Feng Mingming further emphasized that after the 8.6-generation line adopts the sleeve cutting design, the efficiency of cutting two 100-inch glass substrates reaches 95%, and the efficiency of cutting two 85-inch and two 50-inch glass substrates at the same time reaches 92%, and the efficiency of cutting three 70-inch and two 50-inch glass substrates at the same time reaches 92%.
