After September 15, Kirin 9000 will be out of print. But the latest news shows that by the end of the year, Kirin 9000 will have at least 8 million units in stock, which means that the supply of Huawei Mate 40 is still guaranteed in the early stage.
According to industry insider @手机陶瓷达人, the world's first Kirin SoC and 5nm mobile phone chip with integrated 5G modem will be released next month.
He revealed that the die size of the Kirin 5nm chip is larger than the Apple A14 chip without an integrated modem, and the number of units in stock by the end of the year will be at least eight million.
As early as June this year, the blogger broke the news that the number of Kirin processor chips that Huawei needs before the end of the year, whether 5nm, 7nm mobile phone chips or 16nm, 28nm such as HiSilicon's self-developed TWS headset Bluetooth chips, will all be delivered before mid-September.
There will be no major problems with Huawei's product shipments in the second half of the year. Recent reports that Huawei will postpone mass production of its flagship Mate40 mobile phone are basically false.
According to foreign media reports, Huawei is expected to officially announce the Kirin 9000 chip at a press conference at 14:00 on September 3rd local time in Germany (20:00 Beijing time).
Kirin 9000 will use TSMC's 5nm process. Given that TSMC will no longer be able to ship to Huawei after September 15, the company is now working at full capacity to produce for Huawei.
Earlier, Yu Chengdong had made it clear that the Huawei Mate 40 is equipped with a new generation of Kirin 9000 chip, which will have more powerful 5G capabilities, more powerful AI processing capabilities, and more powerful CPU and GPU.
However, due to the second round of sanctions from the United States, Huawei's chip production only accepted orders before May 15, and production was stopped on September 15. So this year may be the last generation of Huawei's Kirin high-end chips.
