Microsoft's dual-screen phone Surface Duo has been released and will start shipping in the United States on September 10. The price starts at $1,399.99, which is about RMB 9,722. However, Microsoft may not be fully ready to ship the Surface Duo for review, perhaps due to unfinished system software. Microsoft is now more willing to show off the gorgeous hardware device.
Microsoft has shown CNET a Surface Duo prototype that replaces the screen and inner cover with transparent glass, allowing them to admire the complex device's exposed hardware.
IT Home previously reported that in terms of configuration, the single-sided size of Microsoft Surface Duo is 5.65 inches (1800 x 1350), and the unfolded size is 8.1 inches (2700 x 1800). It is equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor, 6GB of memory + 64/128/256GB UFS3.0 storage, and weighs 250 grams.
As the first phone in the Surface series, Surface Duo uses a revolutionary 360-degree hinge to connect two screens. It has enterprise-level security configuration from chip to cloud, and can achieve cloud-based management control. With Windows Virtual Desktop, users can achieve a cloud-based Windows 10 experience and turn it into a mini portable PC.
Currently, the phone only supports 4G networks, supports WiFi 5 and Bluetooth 5.0, has Cat.18 download and Cat 5 upload speeds, and supports Nano SIM + eSIM dual cards (AT&T network does not support eSIM).
Surface Duo is also equipped with an 11MP ?/2.0 lens, a dual-cell design, a total battery capacity of 3577mAh, supports 18W fast charging, a battery life of approximately 27 hours, supports 100% sRGB and DCI-P3 color gamut, has a USB-C 3.1 interface, uses fingerprint recognition, and supports Surface Pen.
In addition, Surface Duo supports dual-screen multitasking. The two screens can run (display) different applications separately, and work with the Surface Pen to improve work efficiency.
