On August 7, whistleblower @RODENT950 revealed that Kirin's next-generation flagship chip will be named Kirin 1000, and it will be officially released on September 5.
According to the data, Kirin 990 was released in Berlin, Germany on September 6. It is speculated that Kirin 1000 may debut on September 5.
According to the disclosed information, Kirin 1000 is built based on a 5nm process and may adopt the Cortex A78 architecture. Its performance will be greatly improved compared to Kirin 990.
In addition, industry insider @手机陶瓷达人 pointed out that the cost of Huawei's 5nm Kirin chip is between Apple A14 and Apple ARM CPU.
@手机芯片达人 also revealed that the number of Kirin processor chips that Huawei needs before the end of the year, whether 5nm or 7nm, will all be delivered before mid-September, and Huawei's product shipments in the second half of the year will not be a problem.
To sum up, Kirin 1000 is expected to be released in early September, and the Mate 40 series may officially debut in late September or October.
