A week after Apple released the iPhone 11 Pro in 2019, it applied for patents for its camera array design, and now these patents have been disclosed by the US Patent Office. According to foreign media Appleinsider, the appearance of the final version of the iPhone 11 Pro camera is very different from the previous design.
Drawings filed by Apple with the U.S. Patent Office show a number of different designs for the camera array on Apple's iPhone 11 Pro. Even if some of the designs didn't end up being adopted, there are still a lot of great designs, including multiple variations on the rear camera array.

These camera arrays may also be prototypes of Apple's future electronic devices, and these designs seem to be purely cosmetic. "It should be noted that any exterior design can be selected as long as it does not affect the operation and function of the camera module, strobe module, and microphone module," the patent application said.

It looks like Apple has either tried every possible lens arrangement, or this patent application is an attempt to cover every lens design. From the drawings and basic description, each individual lens in the design is identical to the final iPhone, but the overall shape of the bump is very different.
