Lu Weibing, president of Xiaomi Group China and general manager of Redmi brand, showed off the Redmi Note 8 and iPhone 4, lamenting that "mobile phones were so small back then."
According to information, iPhone 4 was released on June 8, 2010. It uses a 3.5-inch screen with a resolution of 960×640. This is the first time that iPhone uses a retina screen.
It is worth mentioning that the iPhone 4 encountered the "antenna gate" incident. Because the iPhone 4 designed the antenna and the frame together, if the phone is held in an incorrect posture, it will interfere with the signal, causing the signal to be "blind" for a short period of time. This can be said to be a major design mistake of the iPhone 4.
Redmi Note 8 was released on August 29, 2019, more than nine years apart. It uses a 6.3-inch water drop screen with a resolution of FHD+. This is the first quad-camera phone in the Redmi Note series.
With the advent of the full-screen era, mobile phone screens are getting bigger and bigger, and small-screen flagships have become a "scarce resource" in the mobile phone market.
Lin Bin, co-founder of Xiaomi and vice chairman of Xiaomi Group, pointed out that with consumers' increasing requirements for the appearance, screen display, battery life, performance, and photography of high-end mobile phones and the arrival of 5G, small-screen flagship mobile phones are becoming increasingly difficult to make.
