According to Korean media etnews, industry insiders revealed that LG Display plans to introduce a stepper from Nikon this month for the 10.5-generation OLED production line in the P10 factory in Paju City. It is reported that the company plans to introduce 3 to 4 more stepper from Nikon before the end of this year to accelerate the shift of its business focus to OLED.

A spokesperson for the P10 factory said, "The new stepper will be installed next month." Since last year, LG Display has introduced three steppers for its P10 factory.

The report pointed out that the Korean panel manufacturer has been busy with preparations for large-size OLED production, and has successively introduced key equipment for the 10.5-generation OLED production line in Paju City and the 8.5-generation OLED production line in Guangzhou.

Meanwhile, LG Display invested $2.48 billion in its 10.5-generation OLED production line last year and set a goal of producing 30,000 OLEDs per month in the first half of 2022. However, due to the recent special market conditions, the company had to postpone the plan to 2023. Despite this, LG Display will continue to introduce key production equipment to lay a solid foundation for the OLED production line.

In addition, LGD also hopes to complete the necessary preparations for the 8.5-generation OLED production line in Guangzhou before the end of the first half of this year.

Etnews pointed out that LG Display is expected to continue to eliminate low-generation LCD business and expand the scale of OLED factories in Paju and Guangzhou. In the current LCD display field, Chinese companies continue to expand their market share, and Korean factories gradually announce their withdrawal. However, it should be noted that Korean factories are turning to the new generation of advanced display technology. How can Chinese companies get a share?
