On the morning of January 6, before the opening of CES2020, LG announced that it would launch a total of 8 new 8K TV series in 2020, ranging in size from 65 inches to 88 inches, all supporting Apple HomeKit and AirPlay 2 protocols. And built-in AI chips to optimize the picture.
Among these eight new products are LG's iconic OLED 8K TVs in 77 inches and 88 inches, and 8K LG NanoCell TVs in 65 inches and 75 inches. The latter is LG's featured product. According to official statements, nano display technology can absorb excess light waves in the light while filtering light to improve the color purity and accuracy displayed on the screen, and can also reduce color fading, image instability and color decay.
LG says all of its TVs exceed the official 8K Ultra HD definition set by the Consumer Technology Association and are capable of playing native 8K content. The new TVs work with Apple HomeKit and AirPlay 2, allowing them to interact with content from other AirPlay 2 devices and be controlled via Siri voice commands. HomeKit support also means the new LG TVs will appear in Apple's "Home" app.
LG's 2020 8K TVs will have a new AI processor built in that uses deep learning to optimize picture and sound quality. The TVs will be able to recognize faces and text on the screen, fine-tuning and sharpening for natural skin tones, better definition of facial features, and clearer characters.
LG will officially unveil its 8K TV series at the CES 2020 electronics show.
