Swiss communications company Sunrise and Huawei jointly set a new record for 5G network speed. Under the 3.5GHz frequency band, the download speed reached 3.67Gbps, which attracted outside attention. The two companies will continue to deepen their cooperation in the future.
According to the Korean media ZDNet Korea, Sunrise uses Huawei's 5G commercial equipment, and the download speed can reach 3.67Gbps under 100MHz bandwidth and 3GPP international standard connection. Sunrise officials said that in order to provide 5G services to the entire Swiss population, they are actively conducting tests, and will strengthen cooperation with Huawei in the future to launch more products and services.
The test was conducted in Zurich, Switzerland's largest city, using a 5G base station and multiple 5G smartphones. In particular, the test used only Huawei's MU-MIMO technology, which successfully increased the data transmission speed of smartphones without adding additional frequency bands.
MU-MIMO technology allows base stations to reduce radio interference and improve speed when transmitting 5G signals to multiple smartphones. If used in areas with dense 5G users, it can reduce the decline in 5G network speed and is a technology that improves 5G quality.
It is worth noting that the 5G network speed measurement results released by foreign media "CNET" recently showed that Los Angeles and Chicago in the United States use the 28GHz frequency band, and the network speed can reach 1.8Gbps and 1.3Gbps, while South Korea currently relies on the 3.5GHz frequency band and the network speed is only 618Mbps. However, Sunrise uses the 3.5GHz frequency band, and such a result has attracted attention from the outside world.
Sunrise launched its 5G service in April. In addition to using Huawei's wireless network equipment, the core network to end-to-end 5G solutions are all provided by Huawei. Huawei's first 5G mobile phone, Mate 20X, was also launched in advance by Sunrise.
