Can Huawei survive without US supply? Ren Zhengfei: Yes, but not necessary

Huawei has been included in the Entity List by the United States for a long time, but Huawei has not been greatly affected. In the Q&A session after Ren Zhengfei's public dialogue today, an audience member asked about Mr. Ren's proposal to sell 5G technology to American companies. Does this mean that Huawei can now make 5G products and equipment without relying on American technology and suppliers? Could Mr. Ren clarify whether Huawei's 5G products currently being shipped have removed American components?

Ren Zhengfei replied, "Can we survive completely without the supply from the United States?" It should be true. But we can still use American parts. In August and September, we conducted a trial run-in test for the new version switch. The United States was only 5,000 base stations short of this trial run-in test. After September and October, we started mass production. This year's output is 600,000 base stations, and next year's output is 1.5 million base stations. Of course, we still hope that the West will resume the supply of parts, because we have been friends with Western companies for 30 years, and people still have feelings. We can't just make money for ourselves and let our friends not make money. We can't do that.
