How to effectively choose a lithium battery protection board
1. Classification of protection boards
1. Lithium iron phosphate is 3.2V
2. Ternary lithium is 3.7V
2. How to choose the protection current
1. Calculate according to your own load
First, calculate your own charging current and discharge current. This is the basis for choosing a protection board.
For example, a 60V electric car, charging 60V5A, discharge motor 1000W/60V=16A. Then choose a protection board, the charging must be higher than 5A, and the discharge must be higher than 16A. Of course, the higher the better, after all, it is best to leave a margin for the protection upper limit. The editor directly purchased a 45A with balanced charging and discharging at the same port.
2. Pay attention to the charging current
Many friends buy protection boards with large protection currents. But they don't pay attention to the problem of charging current. Because the charging rate of the battery is mostly 1C, your charging current must not be greater than the rate of your battery pack. Otherwise, it will burst, and the protection board will not play a protective role. For example, if the battery pack is 5AH, I charge it with 6A current, and you charge it with 10A protection, then the protection board does not work, but your charging current is higher than the battery charging rate. This will still damage the battery.
3. The battery must also be adapted to the protection board.
If the battery discharge is 1C, you choose a large protection board, and the load current is higher than 1C, it is also easy to damage the battery. Therefore, it is best to match the power battery and the capacity battery, and calculate it well.
