Well-known digital blogger @芒果先生 published an article analyzing why Apple has the confidence to provide 5W charging as standard for iPhone. He said:

Apple considers that if the cost of fast charging is included, the price of iPhone products will be very high, and it is afraid that everyone cannot afford it, so it makes 5W charging standard, which is full of humanistic care.

He estimated that 90% of Apple users don’t know what fast charging is, and suggested that Xiaomi’s Lu Weibing explain it to Apple.

What’s interesting is that his post mentioned Lu Weibing, Vice President of Xiaomi Group and General Manager of Redmi brand. It happened to be seen by Lu Weibing himself. When Lu Weibing forwarded it, he said:

"If Apple continues to be so arrogant, its market share will continue to decline. However, iPhone phones support fast charging, but the inbox charger is 5V1A, which is fundamentally different from the fact that the phone does not support fast charging."

Of course, Lu Weibing doesn't need to remind me that Apple has already realized the seriousness of if the iPhone continues to come with 5W charging as standard.

According to well-known digital blogger @钟文泽, "Someone claiming to be a Foxconn employee broke the news on Tieba that the standard charger for iPhone 11 (speculated name) is no longer a "Wufu Yian" charger, but a PD plug that supports 18w. The charger model has changed from A1443 to A1720."

As for whether the new iPhone will bid farewell to the eternal 5W charging and use 18W charging, we will have to wait until the new product launch conference this month to find out.
