Following Samsung Galaxy Fold and Huawei Mate X, Google also brought its folding screen patent.
Google LLC applied for this patent to WIPO (World Intellectual Property Office) at the end of 2018 and it was published on June 27, 2019. The patent has a multi-page foldable display panel that can be folded open like a book.
The patent shows that the device combines multiple OLED screens through a "book spine", and the "cover" is equipped with a battery, processor, camera, etc. The display panel is located inside the device, and content can be displayed on both sides of the display panel (front and back), and the screen can be placed outside by "turning pages".
In May this year, Google stated at the 2019 I/O Developer Conference that it has been researching foldable screens for a long time and has developed a variety of foldable screen prototypes.
