According to Reuters, Brazilian Vice President Hamilton Mourao said that the Brazilian government will not rule out Huawei from operating 5G mobile communications networks in the country.

As of now, Huawei has obtained 46 5G commercial contracts in 30 countries around the world, and has shipped more than 100,000 5G base stations, ranking first in the world.

It is reported that in March this year, when Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro visited the White House, Trump specifically proposed to him to "ban Huawei". However, Brazilian Vice President Hamilton Mourao met with Huawei founder Ren Zhengfei during his visit to China last month. The vice president said at the time that Brazil will launch a 5G network next year and has no plans to ban Huawei.

Recently, Mourão also emphasized to Brazil's largest financial newspaper, Valor Economico, that there is no distrust of Huawei within the Brazilian government and that Brazil needs Huawei to provide telecommunications technology.

It is worth mentioning that at the end of last month, Brazilian telecom operator TIM Participacoes SA (TIM for short) revealed that the company will conduct 5G wireless technology tests in the southern Brazilian city of Florianopolis, using equipment provided by Huawei.

TIM, the Brazilian subsidiary of Telecom Italia (TIM SpA) and one of the four largest telecom operators in Brazil, also said it plans to test 5G in two other cities in Brazil, in partnership with Finland's Nokia and Sweden's Ericsson.
