At present, the system's requirements for power supply design are becoming more and more stringent. With the continuous improvement of energy regulations and the increasing requirements for efficiency, the power supply has been pushed to the extreme, and the simple use of the original architecture can no longer meet the needs. Therefore, a new generation of architecture design is required to meet the current needs. For high-efficiency 5G power supply applications, GLP Power has launched an open frame solution based on NXP technology. The solution is equipped with the input-side synchronous rectification technology IC TEA2206T. This IC has fewer parts around it, and can effectively improve efficiency without adding too much space, and replace the traditional bridge rectification architecture.

The TEA2206T is an active bridge rectifier controller suitable for replacing two low-side diodes in a traditional diode bridge with MOSFETs. Since the forward conduction loss of the typical rectifier diode has been eliminated, the use of the TEA2206T with a low-resistance, high-voltage external MOSFET can significantly improve the efficiency of the power converter. Compared with the traditional architecture, when the voltage is 115Vac input, the efficiency can be increased by about 0.78%, making the overall efficiency exceed 90%. In addition, the TEA2206T also has an X-capacitor discharge function, which can effectively reduce no-load losses.

Core technology advantages:

  • Few external parts;

  • Directly driving MOSFET does not require a driving circuit;

  • AC turns off the fast discharge function;

  • X-cap discharge function effectively reduces no-load loss;

  • High voltage starting self-sufficient power supply.

Program Specifications:

  • Input voltage 90V~264V;

  • Output voltage 12V;

  • Output power 240W;

  • The no-load loss is less than 0.5W.
