Inverter air conditioners are a popular model in the market nowadays, but many consumers who don't know the ins and outs of it are often fooled by the word "inverter" used by merchants. They all say they are inverters, but are they DC inverters or AC inverters? You won't know the ins and outs of it until you hear about it.

The difference between AC inverter and DC inverter is the compressor and electronic control system. The compressor of DC inverter air conditioner uses DC motor, and the electronic control system is relatively complex, which belongs to synchronous control; the compressor of AC inverter air conditioner uses AC motor, and the electronic control system is relatively simple, which belongs to asynchronous control. DC inverter air conditioner saves 20%~30% of electricity than AC inverter air conditioner, and DC inverter is better than AC inverter in terms of comfort, quietness, life, control accuracy, etc.

1. DC frequency conversion technology

Principle: The working principle of DC variable frequency air conditioner is to convert 50Hz industrial frequency AC power into DC power and send it to the main circuit of power module. The power module is also controlled by microcomputer. The difference is that the module outputs DC power with variable voltage. The compressor uses DC motor, so DC variable frequency air conditioner can also be called full DC variable speed air conditioner. The rotor of DC variable frequency compressor is made of rare earth permanent magnet material. Its working principle is: the stator generates a rotating magnetic field and directly acts on the permanent magnetic field of the rotor to realize the operation of the compressor. The speed of the motor can be changed by changing the DC voltage sent to the motor. DC variable frequency air conditioner has no inverter link, which is more energy-saving than AC variable frequency in this respect.

Features: DC variable frequency compressors do not have the electromagnetic induction effect of the stator rotating magnetic field on the rotor, which overcomes the electromagnetic noise and rotor loss of AC variable frequency compressors. They have higher efficiency and lower noise than AC variable frequency compressors. The efficiency of DC variable frequency compressors is 10%-30% higher than that of AC variable frequency compressors, and the noise is 5dB-10dB lower. However, the cost of DC variable frequency air conditioners is higher than that of AC variable frequency air conditioners.

 2. AC frequency conversion technology

The working principle of AC variable frequency air conditioner is: variable frequency technology is a technology that changes the power frequency through the inverter, thereby changing the speed of the compressor. The inverter first converts AC to DC, and then converts DC to AC, thereby controlling the speed of the AC motor. The control of the inverter is to transmit the indoor temperature information to the microcomputer through the sensor, output a waveform with a certain frequency change, and control the frequency of the inverter. When the indoor temperature drops or rises rapidly, the indoor air conditioning load increases, the compressor speed increases, and the cooling capacity increases proportionally. On the contrary, when the indoor air conditioning load decreases, the compressor operates normally or slows down.

AC variable frequency compressor is essentially still a three-phase AC asynchronous motor, which rotates the rotor through the interaction of the magnetic field between the stator and the rotor. However, its special design allows the motor speed to be changed within a large range by changing the frequency and voltage of the power supply, so it is called AC variable frequency.

Features: Compared with fixed frequency air conditioners, AC variable frequency air conditioners have higher efficiency, lower noise, and more sensitive control. Their cost is lower than that of DC variable frequency air conditioners.
