The new iPad is just as expected, with six major features, including a clearer Retina display, a more powerful quad-core GPU, a better iSight lens, a faster 4G LTE network connection speed, a more distinctive App Store, and a more protective iPad Smart Cover. Let's take a look at them one by one.
Retina display 2048×1536 pixels ultra-high resolution
In the same 9.7-inch display, the new iPad has 4 times more pixels than the iPad 2, with a resolution of 2048x1536 pixels, a 44% increase in color saturation, and a 3.1-megapixel front-facing camera, which means a full 1 million pixels more than HDTV. In addition, the pixels in the new iPad display have been separated from the signal, which is a breakthrough technology and is a key to ensuring the new device's clear and sharp display.
Therefore, when users use the new iPad, they can get clearer and sharper text, more delicate and realistic pictures, clearer locations displayed on maps, and clearer presentation of mailbox contents.
A5X chip with quad-core GPU still has 10 hours of battery life
Thanks to the new iPad's A5X quad-core GPU, it can drive a high-resolution screen of 2048x1536 pixels and ensure smoothness when editing photos in iPhoto, adding filters or transition effects in iMovie, and playing large games.
Another good thing is that although the new iPad has increased power consumption in terms of display and quad-core GPU, it still has a battery life of up to 10 hours, and can last for 9 hours under 4G. Therefore, this does not compromise the user experience.
iSight lens 5 megapixels supports 1080p HD video recording
The new iPad uses a new 5-megapixel iSght lens. What’s special about it is that it is equipped with a back-mounted light sensor, can automatically focus on up to 10 faces, and has a maximum aperture of /2.4, ensuring high-quality photo shooting.
The hybrid infrared filter of the iSght lens is a component used in SLR cameras, which can effectively block IR light. In addition, it supports 1080p high-definition video shooting, and the image quality is not inferior.

With the newly added support for 4G mobile network technology and the original mobile phone antenna design, the new iPad can receive almost any network, and there is no pressure to insert a local SIM card even when traveling.
iPhoto/GarageBand/iMovie apps are made for iPad
Apple reported at the conference that the number of applications in its App Store has reached 200,000. Naturally, each application is tailor-made for iPad, and the newly added iPhoto, GarageBand, and iMovie applications bring a new experience through Multi-Touch design.
In the iPhoto editor, you can achieve a similar optimization effect to that of Photoshop by tapping or dragging with your fingers. In the GarageBand app, you can select any musical instrument to perform realistically. In iMovie, you can add sound effects or music created with GarageBand to complete high-definition video editing.
iPad Smart Cover New iPad Smart Cover
Or you don't need to buy an iPad case anymore, because the iPad Smart Cover, which comes with the new iPad, both have built-in magnetic technology. The smart thing is that when you open the Smart Cover, the new iPad will start up immediately, and when you close the Smart Cover, the new iPad will go to sleep.
Smart Cover has up to 10 different colors to choose from. Of course, when the Smart Cover is rolled up, it can also be transformed into a stand for users to view and use.
Currently, the new iPad has two models, black and white. The Wi-Fi version is priced at $499, and the 4G version is priced at an additional $130, starting from $629 (16GB), $729 (32GB), and $829 (64GB). It will be officially released on March 16, with Hong Kong in the first batch and Macau in the second batch on March 23. But as previously revealed by Siri, iPad 3 will be available for pre-order from March 8.
