Recently, Leju announced that it has successfully delivered the first batch of high-dynamic humanoid robots. This robot can be equipped with the open source Hongmeng system, which will bring new changes to the industry.
▍The ability to jump and walk on all terrains is the highlight of this humanoid robot
The large-sized, highly dynamic humanoid robot KUAVO (Kuafu in Chinese) released this time weighs about 45kg and has 26 degrees of freedom. Its maximum walking speed can reach 4.6km/h, and its rapid and continuous jumping height exceeds 20CM. It is the first open-source Hongmeng humanoid robot in China that can jump and adapt to multiple terrains. KUAVO has achieved considerable results in overall machine technology. At this stage, the robot can successfully realize tasks, planning and navigation, and other functions. In addition, with its powerful motion control performance, the robot can also complete a series of difficult movements such as autonomous walking on complex terrain and continuous jumping. Leju has carried out special research around the needs of high motion performance and low cost, and finally made breakthroughs in key technologies such as robot core components and operation control. At present, it has accumulated nearly 100 invention patents in the field of humanoid robots.
▍Equipped with open source Hongmeng, it realizes multi-scenario intelligent connection applications of humanoid robots
Humanoid robots are the carriers for transforming the objective world, and stable, efficient, safe and autonomous robot operating systems are the ideal bridge connecting the robot itself and artificial intelligence.
It is worth mentioning that Leju and Shenzhen Kaihong have also worked together to deeply integrate humanoid robots with the open source Hongmeng operating system, which is expected to accelerate the commercialization of humanoid robots in actual scenarios and promote the widespread application of service robots in education, medical logistics, home services and other industries.
The Leju team has already planned the commercialization path for the Kuavo robot:
Phase 1: In the field of education and scientific research, we will work with all parties to form an innovation alliance, overcome key technologies, and build a development ecosystem. We have already carried out in-depth cooperation in research and development with major universities and research institutes such as Harbin University, Soochow University, Shandong University, and Beijing General Artificial Intelligence Research Institute.
The second stage: In specific fields such as special, factory, and medical, we will create industrial implementation plans for highly reliable humanoid robots in specific application scenarios to meet the needs of harsh conditions and dangerous scenarios. At present, Leju has reached cooperation with relevant companies and will explore application scenarios such as special rescue and high-risk operations.
The third stage: fully enter the family and other people's livelihood areas, meet the high-quality life needs such as life health, companionship and care, develop solutions with complex area guidance, flexible operation, robust walking, and multimodal human-computer interaction, and create a humanoid robot that is "as smart as a doctor and as cheap as a home appliance."
▍Leju "Humanoid Robot +" Open Source Platform
The development of humanoid robots involves multidisciplinary systems such as control, automation, and computers. To this end, Leju has created the "Humanoid Robot +" open source platform. By open-sourcing the Kuavo robot's full-stack technology, it achieves co-creation and sharing of results, allowing more people to participate in the research and development and application of robots.
Wu Yucong, vice president of Leju, told reporters: "Through completely open operation and control, application development and a complete platform, developers can quickly integrate their own research and development results and put them to good use ."
▍The industrial chain is moving towards full localization and taking the lead in achieving commercialization
As a highly integrated platform, the humanoid robot has components such as, reducer, etc., and software such as environmental perception, human-computer interaction, and system control. It covers a wide range of industries and has high technical content.
Leju said: "The development of humanoid robots is highly dependent on the improvement of the industrial ecosystem, which is not a task that one company can accomplish alone. Leju is also committed to building an industrial ecosystem with more upstream and downstream partners to realize the large-scale application of humanoid robots as soon as possible."
It is understood that KUAVO has now entered the full mass production stage and has taken the lead in commercialization in the fields of scientific research, education and special operations. Each unit is priced at several hundred thousand yuan . The first batch of orders has begun to be delivered, making it the first unit in China to achieve mass production and delivery of large robots.
The perfect domestic humanoid robot industry chain will allow domestic companies to maintain their leading edge in terms of cost and yield. While delivering the first batch of humanoid robots, Leju is also continuously optimizing costs. It is estimated that the price of KUAVO will reach more than 100,000 yuan in 3 years and 50,000 yuan in 5-10 years, thus truly creating a humanoid robot that everyone can afford.
