Recently, the second expert group seminar of the [“+” Application] standard "Requirements and Test Methods for Mobile Robot Elevator Suitability" was successfully held. As a leading company in the robotics industry, Silantech used its leading technology and mature implementation solutions to provide suggestions and advice in this expert seminar, and assisted in the construction of standards such as robot elevator safety, robot-elevator interaction, and robot elevator suitability classification.
The robot's ability to take elevators and operate across floors can enhance the flexibility of robot applications and effectively improve task efficiency. Therefore, the question of whether intelligent robots can flexibly take elevators has also attracted widespread attention.
At the seminar, Zhang Liping, Director of Robot Testing and Installation Department of Slamtec Technology, shared Slamtec's valuable experience in intelligent robots in elevator control solutions and proposed three major directions:
01
Test methods and requirements for the elevator mission cycle test
02
Requirements and test methods for robots crossing elevator gaps
03
Battery safety and subsequent application safety standards for each battery type
In response to the difficult problems such as the robot's elevator mission cycle (including navigation and obstacle avoidance, autonomous elevator riding/squeezing, robot-elevator interface and interaction, exception handling, etc.), how the robot crosses the gap in the elevator, and battery safety issues, Silan had actually studied the technology of intelligent robots taking and squeezing elevators a few years ago and successfully overcome the technical difficulties.
In 2021, Slamtec released the industry's first robot chassis Hermes with integrated elevator control, which became the best "entry point" for the development of multi-floor intelligent service robots. In 2022, Slamtec launched the robot mobile chassis Athena2.0, which is also equipped with an intelligent elevator control solution. And in September this year, it has achieved a new upgrade with two versions, Pro and Pro Max, to help robots move on multiple floors.
Autonomous navigation, obstacle avoidance, and elevator riding make robot tasks smoother
Autonomous navigation and obstacle avoidance
01
Silan's robot mobile chassis integrates multiple SLAM technologies such as laser + vision, and uses dual-camera depth cameras. It can flexibly identify obstacles such as black and white objects, small objects, and high objects in the environment, and predict navigation behavior, so it will not hit people even during peak hours.
Take the elevator by yourself
02
Hermes/Athena2.0 innovatively integrates intelligent elevator control solutions, which can realize autonomous elevator calling, autonomous elevator riding/squeezing, and barrier-free multi-floor movement. At the same time, SLAMTEC provides a full set of elevator installation and commissioning services, which are simple and fast to install, help rapid verification, and realize the rapid application of robots.
No modification required, compatible with more than 90% of elevators
03
Silan's 3.0 elevator control solution optimizes filtering and can support more than 90% of elevator brands on the market. It can perform real-time monitoring without modifying the elevator. Through built-in and adaptive algorithms, it can accurately output the current floor and up and down status of the elevator car. The real-time performance is at the millisecond level and the accuracy is more than 96%. It realizes functions such as intelligent robot calling, autonomous switching of floor maps, autonomous riding and going up and down elevators, making robots more intelligent in taking/squeezing elevators.
Quickly handle unexpected exceptions
04
In order to solve the rapid application of the elevator control system, Slamtech has achieved the ultimate in "light deployment and high reliability". While using the Slamtech robot chassis, you can enjoy the robot platform services, including cloud background services, intelligent elevator control equipment installation, and debugging services. When the intelligent robot fails or is abnormal, it can be quickly adjusted through the cloud.
Super strong climbing and obstacle-crossing ability to "pass" the elevator gap
Silantech has also encountered many problems when deploying intelligent robots for customers. For example, when faced with elevators with thick carpets, or when there is a certain height slope or gap between the elevator and the ground, the robot needs to have sufficient climbing and obstacle-crossing capabilities to pass smoothly.
Silan obviously noticed this. Both the Hermes and Athena2.0 series have excellent obstacle-crossing capabilities, and can pass these "levels" with ease.
Make every effort to ensure the safety of batteries
Life is more important than Mount Tai, and safe production is a major issue of people's livelihood. Silan Robot's chassis and chassis are all made of flame-retardant materials, which can protect the battery and robot safety.
It is worth mentioning that in October, the review meeting of the group standard "Basic Requirements for the Management of Enterprise R&D Institutions" drafted by Silan also concluded. The assessment of this standard will further promote enterprise innovation, improve technical level and market competitiveness, and create more commercial and social value.
On the road of standard setting, Slamtech has been forging ahead, using its ten years of technology iteration and scenario accumulation to continuously promote the healthy development of the intelligent robot industry.
