Recently, there have been some big developments in the logistics robot industry. The Mocang Robot, which was established less than half a year ago, completed a RMB 20 million seed round of financing. Boxin Robot also completed a tens of millions of RMB A+ round of financing this month. Earlier, Kuaichang Robot also completed a D round led by Huazhang Investment and Lianchuang Yongxuan. Currently, there are 21 investors. Logistics robots may be the next investment hotspot.
The development of logistics robots benefits from the digital transformation of the warehousing and logistics industry . For a long time, the degree of digital monitoring of incoming and outgoing goods in China's warehouses has not been high. According to statistics, less than 10% of warehouses have achieved full digitalization. Against the background of such rapid trade growth, the digital transformation of warehouses has become a top priority, and logistics robots are a good helper for completing the construction of smart warehousing. As a result, the domestic logistics robot field has ushered in vitality, and the logistics robot track is now full of talents.
Magic Warehouse Robot
According to relevant information, Suzhou Mocang Robotics is a startup robot company established in January 2023 with a registered capital of 100 million yuan. Its founder and legal representative Cheng Changshun was formerly the vice president of Beijing Megvii and graduated from the Logistics Engineering Department of the University of Science and Technology Beijing. He has rich industry experience in artificial intelligence and intelligent manufacturing. This round of financing was led by Source Code Capital and Xiangfeng Changqing, and followed by HKX, Weihe Capital, TusStar, etc.
It is understood that Magic Warehouse Robot uses the independently developed Magic Carpet T-AMR and MagicVision software control platform as its core software and hardware products to replace the traditional AS/RS system (Automated Storage and Retrieval System). The system can continuously check expired products or find products in stock, make full use of storage space, prevent bad inventory from appearing in the warehouse, and reasonably manage inventory and process data, thereby improving the level of digitalization for enterprises in the warehousing, logistics and supply chain.
At present, Mocang Robot, which was established less than half a year ago, has completed the delivery of its first product and obtained 20 million in financing. A fierce competitor has joined the competition for future logistics robots.
Boxin Robot
Boxin Robotics is an aerial robot company with heavy-load control technology as its core. The tens of millions of yuan A+ round of financing it has completed was led by China Huijin Capital and followed by Amphora Capital. China Renaissance Capital served as financial advisor in this transaction. This round of financing will focus on improving the company's product research and development and business expansion in new energy and other fields. Logistics and warehousing aerial robots are one of its important products.
Wu Yuexin, the founder of Boxin Technology, holds a Ph.D. in mechanical and electronic engineering from Shanghai Jiao Tong University. He has worked in the research and development of robot intelligent logistics at leading companies such as ABB and Zhenhua Heavy Industries. According to him, in industrial production, warehousing, logistics and other scenarios, factory logistics problems with workpieces and items weighing more than 500 kilograms or even several tons have always been difficult points that automated factories need to solve, and Boxin's aerial mobile heavy-load robots were created to solve these problems.
For example, in lithium battery production, heavy-duty logistics robots can play a big role. As one of the important links in building a digital factory, aerial logistics robots can help create automated logistics in the boxing operations of lithium battery modules and finished product logistics, effectively reducing the manpower and material costs on the production line. At the same time, logistics robots can also be used by upstream manufacturers of the lithium battery industry chain such as copper foil and aluminum foil to expand production capacity.
The photovoltaic industry also requires heavy-duty logistics robots. The maximum weight of a photovoltaic monocrystalline silicon rod is about one ton, and a large number of machine tools are usually arranged in a limited space. At this time, heavy-duty logistics robots can effectively help these difficult-to-carry behemoths to operate efficiently in the workshop and improve the factory's production efficiency.
Geek+ Robot
Founded in 2015, Geek+ Robotics has now become a leading global intelligent logistics company . According to Interact Analysis's market research report, Geek+ has ranked first in the global AMR autonomous mobile robot market share for three consecutive years.
In April this year, Geek+ Robotics steadily advanced its globalization strategy. On April 15, at the first Hong Kong International Innovation and Technology Expo held in Hong Kong, the smart logistics solutions brought by Geek+ received a special on-site report by Hong Kong TVB News. From April 18 to 21, Geek+ once again appeared at KoreaMAT, a large-scale logistics industry exhibition in South Korea, bringing a new generation of shelf-to-person picking solution PopPick and intelligent sorting solutions. From April 25 to 27, Geek+ came to the LogiMAT2023 International Logistics Exhibition in Germany. The RoboShuttle fully flexible cargo box solution and other solutions provide Europe with internal logistics solutions that are suitable for multiple scenarios.
To date, Geek+ has received seven rounds of financing totaling more than 3.7 billion yuan, making it one of the leading companies with the highest total cumulative financing amount in the smart manufacturing industry.
Fast warehouse robot
Another logistics robot company from Shanghai, China, KuaiCang Robotics is also one of the leading companies in China's logistics robots. Founded in 2014, this logistics robot company has a longer history and has now developed into the world's second largest intelligent warehousing robot system solution provider, with the largest intelligent warehouse in China with thousands of robots.
Kuaichang Robotics also performed well in its overseas business. A well-known Vietnamese company adopted the automatic picking system based on mobile robots provided by Kuaichang Robotics for the first time in its smart factory, achieving full automation in its 100,000 square meters area. According to the person in charge of the factory, mobile robots and intelligent operating systems are applied to the operation processes of factories and warehouses, which greatly reduced production costs and labor costs, improved material handling efficiency, ensured the safety of the internal logistics links of factory warehouses, and realized 7*24 hours of automated operation.
Today, Kuaikan Robot has received a total of 1.125 billion yuan in financing from 21 investors including Cainiao Station, Softbank China Capital, and CITIC Capital. Huazhang Investment and Lianchuang Yongxuan also completed the D round of financing for Kuaikan Robot last month. The amount of this round of financing has not yet been disclosed.
