The golden age will come when robots are found in every scene .

Tesla's high-profile entry, various robot manufacturers rushing to go public, and the gradually recovering economic environment and policy support have made robots burst with new vitality in the new year, and the "golden age" seems to be about to begin.

As of September 1, 2022, there are 1,942 existing robotics companies in China, of which 918 have received financing, nearly 50%. Among them, 330 companies are in the A round. The number of B and C rounds of investment and financing events is increasing, and the amount of financing in the hundreds of millions is also increasing. In 2022, there were 298 financing events in the robotics field, with a total financing amount of more than 30 billion.

It can be said that robots are breaking away from their original “small circle”, the industrial ecology is being improved, and the “golden age” is coming step by step.

The robot is looking for a scene, and the scene is a bit crowded

Before the Spring Festival, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and 17 other departments issued the "Robot+" Application Action Implementation Plan, which clarified the development goals and plans of the robot industry. This topic remains extremely popular, and robots looking for scenarios have become the mainstream trend.

According to the goals mentioned in the Plan, by 2025, the density of robots in the manufacturing industry will double compared to 2020, and the ability of robots to promote high-quality economic and social development will be significantly enhanced. However, to achieve this goal, it is far from enough to promote only in the fields of automobiles, 3C, etc.

At present, the profit point of robot manufacturers mainly comes from the income of project deployment, and the implementation of the project must find a scenario, and a large amount of capital investment in the early stage requires the robot to find a "profitable" industry to increase the income. This also leads to the characteristic of robots "going to whichever industry makes money", so a large number of manufacturers suddenly rushed into the lithium battery and energy storage fields that have been popular in recent years to participate in the competition. However, not all manufacturers have sufficient market judgment, and their eager participation is somewhat blind.

In fact, the application of robots is everywhere, and policies are also working hard to guide robots to different scenarios, form an industrial ecosystem for different industries and scales, and form the scale of robot application technology as soon as possible. Only in this way can we further promote the long-term development of the robot industry and play their respective roles in many aspects such as social livelihood, industrial manufacturing, agriculture, medical care , logistics, etc.

Being favored means having opportunities

With the further upgrading and iteration of related technologies, as well as more demands generated by trends such as an aging population, robots will provide more and more help to our work and life, which also makes the development prospects of related industries more promising.

In addition to policy support, robots + new technologies are also promoting the progress of the robot industry in many ways. Recently, ChatGPT has become very popular in China. This AI language model can not only realize communication between people, but also help people complete some trivial tasks, including writing code, writing poetry, writing planning, etc. It gained 1 million users within 5 days after its release on November 30 last year, and its current development is still showing an exponential trend. This has made many people see the charm of artificial intelligence, and artificial intelligence is also leading robots from "dusty mechanical arms " to a "high-end new gadget."

In addition, humanoid robots, collaborative robots , and mobile robots are also gaining momentum in terms of listing. Recently, UBTECH Robotics, which has been very high-profile, is preparing for its listing on the Hong Kong stock market. JEKA and Yuejiang, which have strong financing, are also already in the IPO stage. In terms of mobile robots, Hikvision and Huarui, which also come from the parent company of Vision, are also going through the listing process... This has never happened before.

Of course, with China's robotics industry entering a new period of policy dividends, more technology companies will inevitably flock to the robotics track in 2023, and more robotics companies will start their journey to listing.

Looking for robots in different scenarios is the real golden age

Driven by scenario-based demands, the scale of the robot market continues to expand. China has been the world's largest consumer of industrial robots for nine consecutive years , and has firmly established itself as the world's largest industrial robot market. This position is unquestionable, and the market opportunities are also unquestionable.

In addition to industrial robots, the prospects of service robots are also booming. There is considerable market space in the fields of service, inspection, processing, warehousing, etc., and huge commercial value will be generated around these scenarios.

As enterprises seek to save labor costs, improve work efficiency, and improve service experience, medical and special robots are also making steady progress, with application scenarios expanding and the robot industry chain developing soundly.

The above is the growth of the robotics industry in its own field, but after all, the robotics industry must rely on another industry to truly achieve development. China's economic development has entered a new period of transformation and is transforming from a manufacturing power to a manufacturing power. Therefore, China's robotics market is booming under the background of new infrastructure and intelligent manufacturing 2025, and the window of opportunity is visible to the naked eye.

It can be said that the golden age of robots is coming, but active and passive are two different situations. The golden age can only truly arrive when production scenarios realize the need for automation transformation and can actively seek robotic solutions.
